I went on my first work trip to Las Vegas, NV.
It was a week long, everything was paid for, and I got to meet a lot of successful millionaires. It was eye-opening for sure.

I learned valuable lessons.

Everyone’s fighting their own battles, so don’t envy. Don’t waste your time judging, or wishing you had someone else’s life. Because you don’t know their stories.

All their stories were filled with affairs, lies, betrayal, and fights. Yes, they owned million-dollar homes, but they barely got to spend any time in it, they were disconnected from their families, and dealing with health/mental issues.

As I listened to their stories, I couldn’t help but think, “I’m so grateful for my life.” I didn’t have as much money as they did, but I wouldn’t trade places with them if I was given the chance. It made me think: I need to figure out what really matters in my life; what do I truly care about and what satisfies me? Because if I can’t answer these questions, it means I don’t know my values and I will by swayed/fall for anything.

So, I’ve learned a few things about myself:
– I prefer slow moments and reading
– I am not a business woman
– I am a deep thinker which makes me sensitive
– I value compassion and empathy
– Work ethic, transparency, and integrity matters to me
– Making loads of money is great, but not always satisfying
– I hope to always be a grateful person, far from being greedy

Staying grounded and true to myself is always one of my greatest battles – especially in my work environment. But as I continue my daily fight, it gets easier.

So if this post reaches even one person – I hope to bring you some comfort. You don’t have to have it all figured out because we’re not meant to. Life is like a puzzle – you put one piece together, day by day, step by step. Then, after some time, you take a moment to zoom out, you begin to see a picture. You find beauty in it and can even be surprised at what the picture is.

Be patient with yourself and may your values ground you.
